Season 23: Claimer Race Updates

Claiming races have always been the heart of grassroots competition, and Season 23 takes them to a whole new level.

Whether you're a newcomer looking to find a diamond in the rough to begin your stable or a juggernaut horse business operation that loves utilizing claimer races as a way to ensure more of your horses are on the tracks, these updates to claiming races are meant to make them that much more desirable. 

Here is what you need to know about the updates:

Expanded Leaderboard Payouts

The top 50 positions on the Claiming Leaderboard now earn $200 per spot. Tied positions split their earnings evenly.

60% More Claiming Races

More races mean more opportunities! This expansion is perfect for newcomers and budget-conscious players looking to build or expand their stables.

As PFL looks to expand its marketing and new player acquisition vastly, the Claimer series is the perfect place to onboard new players to learn the game, gain confidence, and still have incentives to work towards!

Affordable Entry Points

Claiming races start at just $1, making them the easiest and most affordable way to get into racing.

New Caps for Strategic Play

The claiming ceiling is set at 15k Derby (USD 187.50). Owners must strategize whether to continue racing at this level, risking a claim versus holding onto a leaderboard spot or moving to a safer race type.

Wins-Based Claimers

Introducing Non-Winners of Two (NW2) races, perfect for horses with limited wins:

• 400 Derby NW2 Claimers
• 800 Derby NW2 Claimers
• 1200 Derby NW2 Claimers

These grade-protected races include $CROWN rewards and are a great way to develop your horses while climbing the leaderboard. It's the first step of many to come to provide avenues for all horses to be competitive in races as they progress.
